The exposition is dedicated to the creative tandem of two geniuses, the artist and the poet, and is timed to the 80th birth anniversary of Vladimir Vysotsky. Visitors can get acquainted with the works of Mikhail Shemyakin from the series "Carnivals of St. Petersburg", "Metaphysical compositions" and others. Also, at the exhibition you might see a collection of jewelry miniatures, designed by Mikhail Shemyakin in cooperation with the Jewelry House SASONKO. Opening of the exhibition "History of the legend. Shemyakin and Vysotsky "was held on January 25 on the birthday of Vladimir Vysotsky. The event in Altmans Gallery was attended by representatives of politics and business, culture and art. Among the guests were Evgeny Davidovich, the chairman of the board of Binbank; Mikhail Evloev, the general director of EMA Invest; Yevgeny Yakushev, the executive director of Safmar; Alexander Taranov, the co-owner of Orient Express Bank; Roman Tyshkovsky, the managing partner of Odgers Berndtson Russia; Anna Bokshitskaya, the executive director of the RJC; Ekaterina Kibovskaya, director for special projects of ROSIZO; collector Boris Fridman, Julian Makarov, host of the TV channel "Russia-Culture"; actresses Maria Romanova and Anna Churina; secular girls Anna Zaitseva and Cristina Lola-Piro. Along with the founders of the gallery, Yegor and Christina Altman, the exhibition was opened by the lawyer of Vladimir Vysotsky's heirs Sergei Kukharenko, representative of the Mikhail Shemyakin Center Andrei Volodin, composer Alexander Zhurbin. Representative of the Mikhail Shemyakin Center, Andrey Volodin, in his welcome speech noted –2018 is a jubilee year. 80 years, 75 years. Fate did not just bind two great people. They were familiar only 5 years, but in this short time they have created so much that we still enjoy it, admire and remember.— Vladimir Vysotsky highly appreciated this friendship, and dedicated his songs to Shemakin , who, in turn, drew illustrations to the works of Vladimir. In December 1979, Vysotsky wrote Shemyakin –The end of the ‘Witch Hunt’ is dedicated to Mikhail Shemyakin. And I came up with this song because of him. ‘Domes’ –I also owe it to him. It's for him. And my most serious song is ‘I was weak and vulnerable’! Misha! You gave me this idea. Love you. Because I love real friends. Misha! I would like to live here because you are here!— Exhibition ‘History of Legends. Shemyakin and Vysotsky’ will last until March 25. Visitors can see works from the series "Carnivals of St. Petersburg", one of the main artistic themes of Mikhail Shemyakin's art, and ‘Metaphysical compositions’. In addition, within the exposition you can see the famous series of author's prints of Mikhail Shemyakin to the legendary poems and songs of Vladimir Vysotsky. Lithographs from the cycle ‘The womb of Paris’ became the central showpiece of the exhibition. Shemyakin and Vysotsky’ and provided this exhibition with a unique collection of jewelry and stone-carving miniatures, created in cooperation with Mikhail Shemyakin. Visitors of the exhibition will be able to see all three directions of the collection: jewelry created by Mikhail Shemyakin according to sketches for the ballets 'Magic Nut' and 'The Nutcracker' staged by the Mariinsky Theater; gold brooches and pendants with hot enamel from the series 'Metaphysical Images'; decorative stone-cutting sculpture in which the spectator easily recognizes the carnival characters of St. Petersburg and Venice, as well as the images of the ballet 'The Nutcracker' embodied in fascinating Christmas-tree toys. During the exhibition, guests will be able not only to admire the unique works of jewelry art, but also to purchase the products they like.
