The tradition of awarding honored professors of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory was founded two years ago. The first awarding with gold medals "For the selfless service of the Moscow Conservatory and for the outstanding contribution to the preservation of traditions and the development of the national artistic culture" was timed to coincide with the 150th anniversary of this educational institution. The decision to make the rewarding annual was supported by the partner of the Moscow Conservatory - Jewelry House SASONKO. It is the House of Sasonko who is responsible for the "purity" of gold of these high awards, as annually the Conservatory hands medals designed by its jewelers. As in the past year, the names of the laureates were determined by the Scientific Council of the Conservatory by secret ballot. Honored Artist of the RSFSR Vladislav Agafonnikov (pianoforte) was awarded as well as Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Inna Barsova (musicology); National Artist of Russia Irina Bochkova (violin); Honored Artist of the RSFSR Boris Kulikov (conducting); Honored Artist of Russia Maya Samuilovna Glezarova (violin) - posthumously. The solemn ceremony of presentation took place in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. The professors received gold medals from the hands of the rector of the Conservatory Alexander Sokolov.
